Celebrating the life of
Lydia T. Vasquez
November 10, 1958 - April 16, 2019
She was a strong, determined, and energetic woman always willing to lend a helping hand. She was deeply loved and her presence in this world will be missed by many.
Lydia T. Vasquez entered in to eternal life on April 16, 2019 at the age of 60.
She was born on November 10th, 1958 in Belize City, Belize to Peter and Lucinda Vasquez. As the baby of 12 siblings, she showed her uniqueness as a child by nicknaming herself “Lydia Therisita, rice bag, sugar bag, dog-tail, piece-up pants, luko luko, Vasquez.”
In April of 1979, at the age of 21, she and her family moved to Savannah, GA. She fell in love with the city and found her serenity on Tybee Island.
Lydia loved being outside to catch a fresh breeze, fishing, cooking with her grandchildren and preparing meals for her friends and family. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with family and trips to the beach. With warm shoulders and open ears, a stranger would quickly become a friend. Those who knew her best were entertained by her mischievous character. She was always cracking jokes to make you smile. She was a strong, determined, and energetic woman always willing to lend a helping hand. She was deeply loved and her presence in this world will be missed by many.
She is survived by her daughter, Anna Ricks and son Joseph Arseneau; grandsons, Donavan Ricks and Jaxon Arseneau; brother and sister-in-law, Pablo and Celia Vasquez; sisters, Juana Vasquez, Rosalie Alpuche and brother-in-law Ambrosio Alpuche, and Maria Colley. Nieces and Nephews, Lisa Loomis, Philip Vasquez, Tiffany Webb, Melissa Webb, Michael Vasquez, Elizabeth Trettien, Sheena Sauls, and Christina Colley; and many more grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hello. You and your family have my deepest sympathy at this time. In the near future, God is going to swallow up death to be no more. A time when your family member can enjoy meals with friends and family, and to be able to enjoy the great outdoors safely and peacefully while she catch some fish for a meal. 2Corinthians 1:3-4 The God of all comfort, comforts us in all our trials. May you and your family find comfort from these few words.

Prayers to such a beautiful soul. I will always remember the time I was outside and I was cleaning or doing something, but I heard Cher for the first time and I was like man this song is amazing and then you stayed singing the song something about the memory I will always remember. I know you are in a better pace now I love you and I know you will be in good hands ?

Sending many prayers. She is such a sweet woman and will be missed by many! Just hold on to those great memories forever. I have a few myself during my childhood on hanging with my high school besties, Anna and Liz. She has always been welcoming and kind every time I saw her. Sending y’all lots of love! So sorry for your loss.
